
James J. Quinn began his career in horticultural in 1979 as
founder and President of Industrial Services International, Inc.
The company introduced super absorbent polymers (Terra-Sorb™) to
the landscape, nursery/greenhouse, forestry, agricultural, erosion
control, and arbor markets. He has extensive experience working
with commercial distribution, municipal, state and federal
agencies, large end users, and international distribution.
During his tenure with Industrial Services International, Inc. he
formed lasting business relationship with over 300 agricultural
and horticultural distributors world-wide and thousands of
customers. In June, 1996, Mr. Quinn sold his
interest in Industrial Services International, Inc. and formed a
new company to continue his work providing the markets with super
absorbents, and to introduce to the markets mycorrhizal
inoculants, beneficial bacteria, and biostimulants.
In his capacity as founder and CEO of Horticultural Alliance,
Inc. Mr. Quinn has pioneered the “Open Systems” approach to
marketing and sales in the horticultural industry. The company’s
goals are to produce complete products that are environmentally
sound and economically sensible for the both commercial and
residential applications. In recent years he has traveled to
China, Jordan, Central and South America and throughout Europe
establishing distributors, servicing customers and attending
workshops and seminars on mycorrhizal fungus inoculants.
Mr. Quinn has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
and a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University
of Tennessee at Knoxville and is a Certified Public Accountant.
He lives with his wife Kay on Longboat Key, a barrier island off
the coast of Sarasota, Florida. Hobbies include travel,
off-shore fishing, cast netting, scuba diving, home repairs,
gardening and landscaping. Most important joys come
from his relationship with Kay and time spent with their 6
grandchildren.
